This covers the siftware.dev website and its mailing list. It does not cover the siftware.dev app itself.

Who we are

Siftware Ltd runs this site and the mailing list. Siftware Ltd is registered in England, company number 05778639, registered office Powys House, Market Square, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys, SY10 0JG.

What we store

When you sign up we store:

• your email address
• your name and what you would use it for, if you give them
• the consent wording you agreed to, and when
• the IP address and browser user agent the sign-up came from
• when you confirmed, and the IP address you confirmed from

The confirmation link is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies.

Why

To send you updates as we build siftware.dev, and early access as it opens up, because you asked. That is the legal basis: your consent. The IP address, user agent and timestamps are kept as a record of that consent and to stop abuse of the form.

Your answer to "what would you use it for" is read by us to decide what to build. It is not shared.

How long

• If you never confirm, everything is deleted after 7 days.
• If you confirm, we keep it until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing deletes it.

Who else sees it

The data is held on a server we run ourselves, hosted by Hetzner in Germany. Emails go out through Resend, which sees your address and the email in order to deliver them. We do not sell or share the list.

Like any website, the servers in front of this one keep short technical logs, which can include IP addresses, to keep it running and secure. Server backups may hold a copy of the list for a short time after you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. The unsubscribe link in every email deletes it straight away. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
