Daily feeds
The daily note fills itself with the day's calendar, the day's recorded meetings and the day's important email, one column each. The day's context sits next to the tasks and captures, each card linking back to where it came from.
What you can do
- Calendar column: each event that day from Nextcloud Calendar - time range or All day, title, location, attendee count, and a link to the event. All-day events first, then by start time.
- Meetings column: each recorded Nextcloud Talk call that day - room name, the posted summary, and links to the recording, transcript, summary and the Talk room.
- Email column: the day's important inbox mail - sender, subject, a one-line gist, and a link to the message. No body.
- Delete a card and it stays deleted.
- See changes at the source reflected: an edited event or message updates its card in place. A cancelled, removed or declined event is struck through. Mail that stops qualifying is marked and its gist cleared.
- Turn each feed on or off under Settings > You > Connections > Integrations > Daily feeds.
How to
- Connect Nextcloud under Settings > You > Connections > Integrations, for Calendar and Meetings.
- Open Settings > You > Connections > Integrations > Daily feeds. Switch on Calendar, Meetings and Important email as wanted. A switch that cannot be used says why ("Connect Nextcloud to use this.").
- Open My Stuff > Today. The first open queues the fill; the page reloads when the cards land.
Limits
- Feeds read the person's own Nextcloud account, with their own connection. Nothing is read for anyone else.
- Feeds fill today and the two days before, on the note's first open. After that, today is refreshed every 15 minutes, and yesterday for the first hour after midnight. Older notes are not filled.
- A feed never creates a note; it fills notes that exist.
- Declined events are left off.
- Meetings: a summary older than a busy room's newest 100 messages is not found (the shared summary file or transcript shows instead). A recording someone else started and never shared shows only its posted summary.
- Email needs a visible mailbox and the right to manage one's own mailbox. It reads the inbox classifier's view of what is important.
- Times show in the note's zone, Europe/London.
